SPEARFISHING THE PACIFIC COAST OF LA PAZ

We’ve been exploring the Pacific side of La Paz for a while now, and every time we go, we discover new spots that completely blow us away. The diving here is truly world class spearfishing!

We chose to establish our camp at Rancho La Aguja a couple hundred feet from the beach we launch from. If you decide to stay here for a few days (which we recommend to really explore the area and fish all of our different spots), you will be tent-camping on a perfect Baja beach complete with comfortable cots and separate bathrooms and showers with all food and drinks provided. Most meals are comprised of the fresh fish caught by the group.

To explore the rich offerings of the area, we use a 24-foot panga that we beach launch straight into the Pacific Ocean. The days are spent diving several different spots that hold an incredible amount of fish — there is no shortage of top-notch dive locations or fish. We target pelagics like wahoo and dorado at the deeper rocks, yellowfin tuna at the banks, and monster Pargo and groupers at the many vibrant reefs in the area.
